I've a sneaking suspicion that will cease to happen once chenks76's rDNS has been corrected.

My sneaking suspicion appears to be wrong Undecided
Very odd indeed. The SOA record points to centralnic.net who are returning valid A/MX records etc. despite the domain not being registered Huh

Re: rDNS changed back to default

No it's not, it's just peculiar that agcomputers.uk.com has a forward DNS entry when it's not even a registered domain. It's nothing you need to be worried about.

Re: rDNS changed back to default

It's not agcomputers.uk.com that has a forward entry, it's EVERYTHING .uk.com because Centralnic have set up a forward entry with an asterisk "*.uk.com" to catch-all currently unregistered .uk.com subdomains and put up ads. This is precisely the kind of thing Verisign did with .com many years ago that caused awkward diagnostic problems like this until they were forced to remove it. Unfortunately Centralnic is not breaking any rule here, they are free to do anything with uk.com as they see fit as it's their domain, they sell subdomains. Personally I think this wildcard is inappropriate as it means that technically every possible entry 'exists' even though it shouldn't, with no error. *shrugs*.

So they have! Could probably have worked that out if I'd actually tried browsing to the domain Roll_eyes
Thanks for the explanation.

Re: rDNS changed back to default

Hi,
I've just noticed this has happened to my IP address. I think it's only happened in the last week or so. My rDNS had been changed to x-x-x-x.plus.com but now it's back to username.plus.com.
