That's an assumption that I hope never gets implemented.
Despite the fact that I don't visit the type of sites that are blocked with the default settings, I will choose which sites I can or cannot visit on my computer and not be dictated to by some Government quango.

Im blocking the following ......... Criminal Activity & Hacking & Hate & Intolerance. i dont think this is somthing people should be scared of i mean safeguard is there to help protect us all. I think enable it but pick what you wish to block i cant really see it harming anyone.

Not going to block that.  Just not going to visit those sorts of sites.
How long will it be before a site gets classified incorrectly and how long until that is corrected?  A few instances of that happening and then people won't trust it.

The "setting up broadband" problem (for F9 and FOL customers) could be fixed. I now get the option to turn it on if I choose to do so.

As far as I was aware Safeguard wasn't implemented on F9 or FOL accounts, so if you're on one of those, sorry!

Since you've activated Safeguard, can you look and tell us what DNS your router is now using please?

213.120.234.42 & 213.120.234.38

Now this is interesting, they are some of BT's DNS. They don't respond to pings and tracert's time out beyond hop 7 for me.
213.120.234.42 identifies as indnsc92.bt.net and 213.120.234.38 as indnsc102.bt.net
Tracerts to 213.120.234.38 add 6ms to the response time after it's left the Plusnet network.

A question
If safeguard uses its own DNS servers does this mean that it won't work if you are using Google DNS as an example

The DNS servers need to be set to 'automatic' if you want to use Safeguard.

So any child with his or her own computer can manually set the DNS servers on that machine which will then bypass everything
