Can't see other devices on WiFi when using 5GHz

If I connect my laptop to the local wifi on the Plusnet hub at 2.4GHZ I can use winSCP or PuTTY to communicate with a Raspberry pi on the same wifi. If I connect my laptop to the hub at 5GHz I can't access the pi. Have a second pi - same problem. Can't see any possible cause in router settings.

Re: Can't see other devices on WiFi when using 5GHz

Are the IP details all being assigned by DHCP?

How do the devices attempting to connect?

I have just tried poking (pinging) some of my devices across the two WiFi bands ... and found that they are using IPv6!!

Also I cannot ping one of the cross band devices ... I need to dig deeper.

I should have been clearer - connection by name or by network address?

By network IP address.
