Domain and Web builder Reccomendations

Following on from this post Fixed: Re: Add DNS Records for 365 - Plusnet Community does anyone have any recommendations for a host with site building capabilities? There seems to be a plethora out there with mixed reviews, some of the big names wix and godaddy seem to have some shocking ghost stories on trust pilot.

The website building side of things is something I can potter with I guess so I could sign up for a budget package and upgrade as need be, I'm looking to make the swapover as painless as possible to get my email etc running with 365 initially and look into site building later.

Down time for swapping is going to be needed to kept to a minimum as it's a functioning business, I appreciate it's a two step process of transferring out the domain then setting up the email which might take a couple of days without email so anybody who's already been through this I'd appreciate any pros and cons of whoever they migrated  to.

Re: Domain and Web builder Reccomendations

So this is getting to be a bigger headache than I thought 😀 I decided to bite the bullet today and sign up for Wix after getting sent a decent deal and phoned PN support for my IPs Tag, turns out that you can't transfer in a co.uk to Wix 😡

I have a cooling off period of 14 days to cancel for a full refund so I guess my options are....

1. Stay with Wix and keep my domain registered with PN, this means fortunately PN have me as a customer for the next three years at least.

2.Cancel Wix and find a web builder domain host who does allow transferring in of co.uk's

3. Keep the capabilities of Wix but transfer my domain out to somewhere cheap that purely keeps the domain name on my behalf but without any bells or whistles, if there is something like that?

My worries are that I've been with PN since the early days and over that time I've seen them drop TV and soon to be dropping my business account and mobile phones, could there be any future plans they will no longer renew my co.uk or ditch the page where I can access the DNS records?

If I stay, who renews my co.uk going forward? Is that down to Wix or PN?

Also, if I stay for the three years and if wix changes its policy on co.uk's (people are voting it up) in that period which settings do I need to point to my Wix website? I came across this post

Which was 2015 showing using the settings....

Left Field                       Type        Pri             Right Field
yourdomain.co.uk.            A                        23.236.62.147
www                             CNAME                  www50.wixdns.net.
m.yourdomain.co.uk    CNAME                   www50.wixdns.net.

Has anyone tried this more recently and do they still stand, was there no need to set a priority? BTW, my nameservers are slightly different but will post them here if it isn't sensitive information?

Any input greatly appreciated, I've spent days on this and now paying for a wix and office 365 subscription I can't use.

Cheers

Re: Domain and Web builder Reccomendations

Think I've decided to leave the Domain at PN and just link it for now. Can anyone advise on the DNS settings please or is that something I will need to phone support for?
