You might as well just do it and see what happens. You'll soon know if their server bounces messages to unknown recipients.

Just tried it on a friend- and it worked- (she got the email but automatic 'failure of delivery' notice came back for the test).
So I will try it with 'them'- and come back with what happened.
(update) My ISP has confirmed that my emails were sent from the server.
Tried the test.email Cc: to 'them' with new emails and got no 'failure to deliver' and no bounce-back. I can only think they have now labelled my address as spam so that it got deleted! A new one on them but true to form.
