Quote Why has it been changed from the two to one ( this could cause problems for customers) microfilter PN ?
We trialled sending one filter out for a period last year and the results gave us the confidence to do this.
Quote Under what's in the box , it say Microfilters, the picture shows one Microfilter, which is correct ?
One microfilter. I'll flag up the spurious 's'
Quote How would a customer request more , can this be done at sign up , or do customers have to ring up to request more ?
Ring up or contact support, they can be ordered by any staff here.

When a customer has a problem, one of the most basic things to check can be "changing the microfilter", now by default, unless the customer has spares ( which we all know is a good idea), they will not be able to do this .
I think this is a bad idea, lets over stretch the call centrer staff ( as if there not already stretched enough at times) having customers on hold, to request more microfilters, , which according to ISP review article will be free.
Seems more costly than just sending two in the first place

Mike

Quote from: emjayee Does anyone know how I find out the IP and DHCP range for the 2704n? I want to use another router to extend wifi coverage, and a guide on the internet said to assign the secondary router an IP address outside the DHCP range of the primary one. But when I log into the control panel for the 2704n I can't see anything which tells me the DHCP range. Any help appreciated!
I got the answer
Quote from: Chris The IP of the new router is 192.168.1.254 I believe, the DHCP range is 192.168.1.1 - 192.168.1.253
Thanks for the answer, but I'm now left wondering what IP address I can use for a secondary router? The website I looked at gave an example where the DHCP range was 192.168.1.1-192.168.1.50, so you could use an IP address from 192.168.1.51-192.168.1.255. From the answer above, the DHCP range seems to cover the whole range, so not sure what IP address to use for the secondary router. Any further help?
Thanks

Pro's:
Router has an onboard option to switch between FTTC and ADSL
Menu's are snappier and everything is a lot easier to navigate
Devices on network can be time restricted.
Cons:
Bright pink feet.
No guest or secondary network
No USB
Time restricted devices can only be assigned a time - not a day of week as well.
No way to set IP address of router / subnet / turn off DHCP server etc ......
This was where I gave up and put the router back in its box. I run quite a complex home network and a separate DHCP server etc. I can't even connect this router to my network without needing to alter a whole lot of other stuff within it.
Summary ? Ok router for a basic home user. Totally naff router for anyone who needs to run on an IP address other than 192.168.1.x and has a separate DHCP server.

I had a play before going back to the TG582n
I have raised the following internally
Respond to ping is permanently disabled on security grounds - so forget about BQM
Telnet is disabled and I didn't find any way of enabling it - so no monitoring programs will work such as Routerstats
Can't fix a device IP address which for me is one reason I won't be using it except for testing
When switching one supplied for ADSL to fibre it has to be set up manually - TR069 won't work and all settings revert to default - and it is then only a three port router
