I have just checked a couple of YouTube 4K videos using JDownloader2 and that works just fine. It tends to offer an Audio-only option as well as lower resolutions. You can remove the ones you don't want and just download what you do.

I don't see why it wouldn't work in W7 as it did for me before I switched to W10.

My thanks to all of you. You have certainly put in some effort. I can at last report success. Mav's suggestion of using JDownloader2 has enabled me to download a video. It downloaded 4 files, and I needed to delete 3 of them but I kept the video. It didn't download to where I would prefer (although it did put them where I agreed to have them but I wasn't in the mood to argue), so I just need to tweak it a bit. Hopefully, this will continue to work, and I can abandon 4kVideo (sorry 4k, you worked well for a long time).

Thanks for the offer @Mav . I have been able to set it to download to where I want the video. I haven't been able to stop it creating files I dont want, the quantity of which seems to vary from youtube video to youtube video, but at least I can delete the excess

Do you have the Clipboard Observer turned on?

When you Copy all the found downloadable files should be seen in the LinkGrabber Tab. From here you can remove the ones you don't want before downloading. You can also temporarily change the download folder if you wish by selecting a download.

@Mav , I'm finding out more and more as I go along, so I think I may have discovered how to list all the files in LinkLoader, though I haven't tried deleting things there yet.

As for the Clipboard Observer, I will have to check that one
