It's the last end of day of January, only 229 more EoDs until Christmas and already the snow's coming apparently. Well you have a second dose of me this week, one day I'll tell Colin I'm busy when he asks me to pull double duty... Ah well, at least it's the weekend now and only 2 days until the next episode of Lost, some big football games and the Superbowl. But before we get to these, let's see what happened around the towers today and this week and first it's Barbara from HR:
Jen’s had a couple of day’s holiday this week and next week Gem’s gallivanting off on holiday somewhere snowy.
Well we’ve had the company rally this week, and Jen’s asked everyone to complete the task she has sent for feedback on it. Thanks.
Amanda and Gemma have been holding performance review workshops with managers, in anticipation of this year’s employee performance reviews being conducted.
We’ve also been busy tapping away at our calculators to draw up our HR 2009_10 budget.
Our updated organisation charts are nearly ready for posting, and we are under way in the recruitment process for our Financial Accountant role. Talking of roles we’re still working on updating all role profiles here at Plusnet, which is a long job.
Trevor Hill was in yesterday to see anyone regarding financial matters, he’s been away, hence why this was late this month; however he is coming in again on the 12th February which is more usual in terms of timing.
Next is Gary from QA:
It's been a while since I did one of these so thought I may as well have a go.
I've been attending meetings about our staging environment today since it experienced problems on Wednesday following a power blip in one of our data centres. We have been trying to get all back up and running ever since. I've also been doing change controls and testing some database cleanup tasks.
Gavin - Has also been continuing with the work to resurrect our test/staging environment.
Matt 1 - Has been having a development day getting all personal with php and stuff
Matt 2 - (junior boss man) has been trying to keep everything organised and also working on some problem fixes.
The boss man (Stephen) is working from home and Paul, Nigel and Catherine are all off so it's just us lonely 4 today.
Have a good weekend... I know I will after the insane week I've had.
Lastly today is Mand from the Comms Team:
Iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit's Friday
It's also payday, happy times
In your comms team today we have been training our CSC colleagues, closing down tasks, dealing with Change Controls, working on the newsletter, crying about the cricket, dealing with problems, dealing with 'Port, answering forum threads, answering random questions from CSC doods, laughing at Bob's broken headphones, going to meetings, and dreaming of the weekend.
Oh, and CParr skived, again. Matt did return from his illness though, yay.
That said, it is officially beer'o'clock.
Have a good one.
And that's all for another day, another week and another month. Back in February for more of the same. Time for QI...
