Friday 3rd of April

Friday 3rd of April

Friday 3rd of April

I swapped my regular Wednesday EOD slot with Tommo this week. I'm sat here, quickly writing this up looking at some rather glorious sunshine outside. Jonny is dragging me out to the Peak District for some bouldering, so apologies if I miss any typos! I think the Sun might have gone to Andrew from the CSCs head..!

I'm Andrew Storey the greatest member of the greatest team in the world! CS newbies! I was formally referred to by my good friend Srini as the 'rude man. Why this is I'm unsure, maybe Srini would like to enlighten us?? ha ha Anyways enough about me, I could go on forever but I really should be talking about work, as unexciting as it some people may think, it really isn't that bad! Well most days anyway lol This week has seen the emergence of the new rising stars we call Katie & Victoria, absolutely smashing targets everyday! Personally I think they've had it easy, but hey it's only cos I'm jealous, right ladies?? ha ha Chris, Rae and Daniele seem to be progressing well, this obviously down to my own input helping getting them up to speed.... On a lighter note our team leader Damien is stressed, which is fun! He really really really wants a pint but he has to stay here for all eternity hahahahahahahahahaha (Ed: Crikey. He must have really upset Simon Leary!) Anyway guys, hope everyone enjoys what I think should be a glorious weekend, peace x

Wow, he's a little enthusiastic... Next up, Gem from HR

THE SUN’S SHINING, yippee (my word of the week) Other words of the week in the HR team have been performance reviews, 1-2-1’s, recruitment, interview feedback, Organisation structures, Employee Opinion survey, policies and procedures, holiday (that’s a good one) and KPI’s. Basically we’ve been finalising our own performance reviews and ensuring CIPHR is up to date. Jen and Barbs have also had their monthly 1-2-1. Internal recruitment has started again and some feedback has been given for interviews been and gone. Jen’s prepared the new Organisation charts for April; these have just been posted in management. EOS meeting have now concluded, were just waiting on departmental action plans. And Amanda was on holiday on Monday, yippee…….for her, obviously we missed her greatly.

James from Comms

After a rather dismal start to the day, the weather is now absolutely glorious. Now what would any self respecting member of the Comms Team do in such a situation? That's right, answer forum posts Which is exactly what I've been doing, along with doing some project work and writing some training. Matt's been making his weekly sojourn to KFC (thanks mate!) and working on the next newsletter. Chris is on call, so he's gone home early and I'm not actually sure what he's been doing today. I suspect it involves Macros though. Bob was heard to be whistling earlier, which is concerning. Bob hates everything and whistling is normally cheerful. Meanwhile, Mand has come into work wearing a tie which seems to resemble something out of Jason and his Technicolour Dreamcoat (crash of light, etc) and she's off out for a nice meal in a bit. The rest of us are off to the pub to say goodbye to an old friend (Apparently there's two Comms EoDs today, so I'll let Matt post the Comms Link o' t' day). See you next week!

Two Comms end of days? Can we really take that in one post...? So, next is.. Matt from ... Comms! Did they just change something in the Matrix?

F-F-F-Fridaaaaaaaaay! Huzzah, hurrah and a yo ho ho. We like Fridays here on the Comms team. Right now it's 20 to beer and the sun is shining. To briefly shy away from Friday beer (as much as I don't want to) we probably ought to tell you what's been going on today. Well, Mand continued her Home Phone crusade leaving many dead and wounded in her wake. Well not really, but metaphorically it's totally true, honest Guv! Meanwhile Chris has been working his Customer Satisfaction magic and left early again. Not that I'm jealous. Oh no. James has been posting in forums like a man with mechanical fingers, and has also been off in a few meetings. Bob has been once again armpit deep in email and I have been sending (and writing) yet more email! Winner! I'm not going to continue this any more as it's getting increasingly hard to not think (and therefore write) about the smooth cool pint of Landlord that I'm about to indulge in, so I shall leave you with a link to today's Commic Enjoy, thanks for reading and have a fabulous weekend. Cheers y'all. PS - Whose is best? You know what I'm talking about Wink

And finally, Andy from the Web Team

It's that time of the week when the Friday feeling comes into play... yes it's FRIDAY! In a change from the norm, today's update was going focus specifically on Colin, "a day in the life of" if you will. But alas he's left work before he could give me the full lowdown. To be honest i think there's only so much you can say about Highland Toffee, Irn Bru and Haggis, so on that note we'll stick to the usual format. Sam's been working on visuals for upcoming project work, and stoking the nostalgia fire with the aid of 'remember that kids tv show...' conversation (again). Colin's tested stuff and worked on problem fixes. As well as contributing to the nostalgia topic, Gary's been "drawing a picture badly, reviewing code, finishing off tr69 stuff cos I'm off next week" - lucky him! Mark has also left early, wedding bells a ringing but not for him. Before he left he was working on an FAQ and testing problems. That just leaves me...I've been problem fixing, project working and bugging Colin. See you next week!

Right. That's it! I'm off to Burbage North
