5 hours VDSL outage and frequent dropping connection after.

Hi Plusnet moderators,

 

Generally it happen occasionally but today is different.

I woke up with no internet connection (wan/dsl0 interface down) which actually came up around 8AM. I checked logs from router and found that my connection went down at 02:28:25 and came up at  07:58:20:

 

Apr 26 02:28:25 router netifd: Network device 'dsl0' link is down
Apr 26 07:58:20 router netifd: Network device 'dsl0' link is up

 

After It's getting unstable and wan interface lost connection again few times:

Apr 26 09:20:05 router netifd: Network device 'dsl0' link is down
Apr 26 09:20:44 router netifd: Network device 'dsl0' link is up
Apr 26 10:51:54 router netifd: Network device 'dsl0' link is down
Apr 26 10:52:31 router netifd: Network device 'dsl0' link is up

 

For most of time when I'm using Plusnet I have quite stable connectivity which allows me to work (I work permanently from home for years).

I keep 30 days of logs from my router on another server and based on that I can say that today something is wrong with VDSL service:

Can you please check what is wrong with VDSL service today and why I had 5 hours outage today (maintenance ???).

Hi there Irek, I'm really sorry about the outage and the disconnections you've been experiencing and for the delays getting back to you about this. 

 

I've just been investigating this and diagnostic tests are returning results about a line fault (high resistance cable fault) so we'll need to arrange a visit from an Openreach engineer to get that fixed.
