Re: 80% loss in download speed

9CEA6973-7BBD-4384-90D1-84D13945DCFB.jpegEngineer came round yesterday morning. I didn’t speak to him personally but my housemate did and he said the engineer said there’s a fault somewhere in the house with the wiring and he can’t get to it. The MS to the internet is in my housemates room and we had a smaller ms originally on the wall and nows he installed this one. It has seemed to of fixed the internet and we are getting the speeds we pay for so I don’t know how there’s a fault elsewhere when he replaced MS and it’s now working but now every time my housemate closes the door it scrapes and flattens the wire. Like this isn’t going to last 2 seconds before that needs replacing. Any chance you can send out 10 replacement wires that go from the MS to the router. Because if this is the service we receive from your engineers this is what I need them to keep it up and running because it’s obviously going to brake. Sorry to sound a pain. Just it’s like I paid my dads mate to come fix it not a professional engineer and I don’t find this fix acceptable.

Re: 80% loss in download speed

I'm experiencing the same over the past 2 days. I feel like I've gone back a decade at this speed. My TV can't comfortably stream anything above 720p, my phone is struggling unless I switch to 5G/ 4G, and my laptop I'm using now feels like a computer I used in school (I left in 2005).

Why has this happened?

Re: 80% loss in download speed

Hi all, @MPE8 We definitely need to get that socket moved and I'm sorry the engineer has left it like that, it's clearly not practical. I can arrange for someone to come out so can you let me know your availability in the following slots please?

Monday to Friday

AM = 08:00 to 13:00

PM = 13:00 to 18:00

@hotrod88 sorry to see you're having connection issues too, tests aren't showing us any obvious causes so could you try following the checks here next?

Re: 80% loss in download speed

Hi there,

I've just had a look and can't see that you're named on the account yet so I can't arrange an engineer with you.

Did you get a chance to try the steps Here?
