Re: ASDL very high ping.

That’s helpful.

With those down spikes, were there disconnections?

What’s the sample interval? It needs to be 10 seconds with 720 plots per graph.

The 15dB DS SNRM points to an issue requiring detailed investigation. More graphs will be interesting.

Re: ASDL very high ping.

@Townman i have just worked out what is causing the downspikes, its every time i go to the home hub tab in routerstats and switch between helpdesk and event log. I just tried it a couple more times right now and it does it every time.

I have ammended the sample intervals now going forward.

Re: ASDL very high ping.

Indeed going directly into the admin interface will interfere with the monitoring.

15dB is though bad news. Have you raised a support call / problem report?

Re: ASDL very high ping.

No i havent, I only saw it was at this level when i started routerstats 2 hours ago. It was at 13db two weeks ago though, perhaps it was done on Plusnets end after my conversations with them?

edit: Should I plug in my hub2 and check the stats on that? Perhaps it is a fault with this particular router?

Re: ASDL very high ping.

I doubt that there’s a router fault.

You could look in the router log for the last xDSL connection record - it will report the target SNRM.

Re: ASDL very high ping.

So that’s the target. Ideally it should be 6dB which should give a faster sync speed. The question is why is the line banded … and why has that not been noticed by support staff?

Re: ASDL very high ping.

I dont know, my ticket was closed last week I assume because the second engineer found no issue. I never stated that the problem had been solved so I just feel like im making a fuss at this point and have been given up on. I was supposed to be upgraded to fibre but I havent heard back about that either so it just feels like I have been left like this. I dont really want to go through everything from the beginning again with someone.

edit: here is my pingplot right now, my mother is unable to stream iplayer as it is particularly bad today.

Re: ASDL very high ping.

The SNRM plot from router stats would be interesting along with a snapshot of the router stats from the GUI.

Two engineers have been out and not found any issues, my ticket was closed even though I do not consider anything being solved. I am very happy to upgrade at this point and was awaiting a call back from a particular representative but that has not materialized as yet.

@Albut17

Are you still needing @Tina11192 's help with this ?, perhaps you could send a Private Message to prompt a response ?

Re: ASDL very high ping.

@Albut17  are you going for a straight ADSL to FTTP upgrade and then move the phone number to VoIP (with about a week of unusable phone), or have you managed to accommodate the suggestion in Reply #45  that would minimise the downtime of the landline phone number ?
