Quick update.

I decided to take the plunge & went live this morning. As hoped, the download has remained at 70Mb, so the only potential issue is the lower MSG in the event of a fault. Just have to keep everything crossed!

Lack of IPv6 was a surprise, just assumed everyone was on board with that.

If you are using a third part router or have any sort of home server which supports a 6in4 tunnel (in the IPv6 config)

then you could sign up for free to  tunnelbroker.net  and have IPv6 on your home LAN network.

I had that for more than a decade when I was with Plusnet, with almost unnoticeable difference in speed or latency compared to IPv4,  but have since moved on to an ISP with native IPv6 so my tunnel is now unused.
