BTw Additional Diagnostic never work

Dear PN Staffs

The line is already increasing to 79.98Mbps from 72.87Mbps as DLM has reduced SNR from 6.2db to 4.2dB since June 3rd, however the throughput speed still on 69Mb as I can't find Plusnet Current Line Speed to matched BTw IP Profile but the BTw Additional Diagnostic keep getting errors all the time since May 14th, never work so I can't see any IP Profile on the line. Can you push Plusnet IP Profile to maximum 80Mbps on their side please to get better throughput speed. For max line of 80Mbps should getting 74Mb on Plusnet profile rate to matched BTw 80Mb. I am on static ip address.

I am not sure if SoGEA BBEU number ever work on BTw Additional Diagnostic as it keep getting errors all time with BBEU for my account - BBEU******** as there is no phone number anymore. Can you ask BTw to investigated it. Could you also run the GEA Test please post back here. The line seem stable over 12 days now since the engineer fixed it on Monday 3rd June. I did soft disconnection some days try to push profile from plusnet to kick it but still same on 69Mb throughput via ethernet from router.

I did try soft disconnected but still stuck on 69Mbps throughput. Try restart the router and still the same 69Mbps throughput. Think plusnet side profile haven't catch up with 80Meg yet.

I am still waiting for PN to get the speed profile to 80Mb. Still on 69Mb throughput speed.

I am fed up still waiting for PN to get the speed profile pushes to 80Mb. Still on 69Mb throughput speed stuck on 79.99Mbps Sync for over 10 days now. Did try soft disconnected and reconnected. Still on 69Meg throughput speed.

Should be 74Meg throughput not 69Meg.

I'm on SoGEA (no phone) and static WAN, and can confirm that BTW "Additional Diagnostic" DOES work using the BBEU -

Perhaps try using a different browser ?,  I get most reliable results using Chromium in "Incognito mode" with no ad-blockers

Line sync speed and usable data speed are very much not the same.

At best the usable profile is 96% of the sync speed and then you need to consider packet over heads and hand shaking when measuring usable DATA capacity.  69mbps DATA speed on a 79mbps line sync does not sound like anything to be too concerned about.

What discernible impact is this having the the real world use of your internet connection?

I agree with @Townman 

My SoGEA syncs at 79.985, with BTW IP profile of 77.33, then with other overheads and QoS the fastest I get is 71.4

so 69 is pretty good using a Plusnet router, and I'd expect the majority of similar customers would be around 66.

I disagree!

The BTw IP Profile should be 77.34Mb from any Sync rate of 79.99Mb with throughput speed of 73Mb not 69Mb see my old Plusnet speed test below (at the time Plusnet Current Line Speed was set at 78Mb in 2017) so, 4Mb slower could be on high retransmission the reason!

IP Profile are 9669% from sync rate 80 = 77 (downstream only) for VDSL (throughput speed 73) BTw Backhaul
(low G.INP retransmission Bearer 0 INPRein = 0.00)

IP Profile are 9169% from sync rate 80 = 73 (downstream only) for VDSL (throughput speed 69) BTw Backhual
(high G.INP retransmission Bearer 0 INPRein = 1.00)

The GEA Test Result will confirm this if it was on high retransmission on downstream.

Mine isn't working on SoGEA (no phone) and static WAN with BTW "Additional Diagnostic" DOES NOT work using the BBEU number.

No IP Profile & BTw errors

There is a road near me. I could probably do 70MPH on it if I tried. There's a 30MPH speed limit on it. Often I'll just get 15MPH, due to parked cars and other traffic.

So, your router is saying it's connected at 79.999 Mbps. In other words, it's at 80 meg! That is the raw "data link" speed.

As other have explained, there are various "technical overheads" that will use part of that link. so getting about 70Mbps sounds about right to me.

My data rate is currently showing 17.707 Mbps / 61.668 Mbps: BTW speed check shows as 18.48 / 56.42. The 56 meg looks good to me, but I'm not quite sure how I got that 18 meg!!!!

 Can’t recall the figures but a fixed IP does come with a data throughput  overhead…..
