Bizarre issues - Slow response

Bit of a strange one but a few weeks back there was a fault on the line where we had no internet for a few hours.   Since it came back on I have found web pages slow to respond to clicks and sometimes a message saying server error .  I also run into bad network symbols when on my F1 racing game online which never used to come on.     The thing is though,   I do a ping test and a speed test at different times of the day and everything comes out fine but Its very sluggish.

.  I have tried re starting the router.   I have tried disabling my mesh system and going straight into the router.  Tried a wire connection but still is sluggish despite hitting good download and ping times .   Not sure where to go with this as on paper there is no fault to ring in but at the same time the internet becomes unusable at times.  I find it hard to work from home as we use an internet based system that at the moment is very unusable. ( it works fine when I get to work)

Not really sure where to go with it.   Not sure if there is some setting in the PlusNet router I can change to make it run better.   I don't really want to disable the firewall or anything like that though!

Re: Bizarre issues - Slow response

@MathewDoughty , welcome to the forums. Can you post the broadband (obscuring your username) and Technical Log pages from your Hub (assuming you are using a Hub2, that is?

Re: Bizarre issues - Slow response

In that case, to start, your Advanced Settings>Connection and Internet pages would be useful, for a start.

Nearly!

If you take screenshot of the Hubs pages as below, we should see all the data I'm after:

@jab1

If you looking for Noise Margin, Line and Signal attenuation you mean this page >Troubleshooting >Helpdesk

Re: Bizarre issues - Slow response

@Dan_the_Van Thanks - I was just going to ask for that, too.

@MathewDoughty I don't think there is anything actually wrong with you connection, but you appear to be doing a lot of uploading, which will hog your bandwidth. Do you have something like OneDrive running permanently?

I'm in the process of updating network drivers on main PC.  As on the laptop it does'nt seem as Bad (but not perfect) .     Yes my Wife using mydrive a lot for work ect but she has been using it for over 2 or 3 years and never had a problem like this before. I'll stick with it for now as its not unusable, its just not as quick and as responsive as it was. Used to be instant when clicking on a link but now there is a delay of a few seconds.   If problem persists I shall call Plusnet to see what they advise.

Re: Bizarre issues - Slow response

@MathewDoughty I can see nothing wrong with the connection in any of those shots. You must be sat on top of the cab with those figures, so, unless someone else can think of something, I would be suspecting something in your home environment.

There is in anything of that data that points, to me, to any external issue that Plusnet could address.

Re: Bizarre issues - Slow response

I'm sort of wondering with those Line and Signal Attenuation figures 8.5 / 7.7 and Noise margin 7.2 / 3 that the downstream sync speed would be nearer to 80mpbs than it is currently showing. Maximum data rate 20800 / 73946

Might be worth using the broadband fault bot to check there are any underlying issues

https://www.plus.net/help/report-a-problem/broadband/ (warning it might report no issues)

If finds no issues it might point you to check your wifi.
