It would be helpful to run routerstats as detailed in my post #16 in August, as this keeps a record of the line state and could help identify where/what the issue is.

However due to the big gaps between the failure it may take some time.

There could be issue with a port or card in the green cab,  I would expect a cable fault between you're property and the green cab the issue would be more obvious and occur more often.

Unfortunately there's no chance i can get a device connected to it long term to monitor.

Is it worth changing the cable from the point to the router?

Have you connected the Hub directly to the test socket found behind the master socket, you'll need a inline ADSL filter for this, I'd use a new DSL cable as well.

It be might be worth a try, but I won't be hopeful

I think I've got the filter hidden away somewhere after an issue a couple of years ago.
