Broadband speed capped at 22mb

Hi,
I just upgraded to fibre74 and through multiple speed tests I get the same results of 20mb (22 max like it can't go past it), these tests are done with wired to the router and not WiFi. My previous connection could also not get past 20mb even though before signing up to any broadband service it's stated I can get around 60mb. I'm just wondering if an engineer is required to update my socket on an outed setup ?. The master socket is upstairs and looks like an old faceplate (looks like an extension socket) . Any ideas?

@Forcibly Where does the telephone line enter your home? Can you post a clear photo of this 'master socket'?

The property is a bungalow / dormer . Line comes in at the front of the property into our spare room. There's no socket in there at all so I guess it goes under the floor onto the landing where the socket is.

EDIT - that is a master socket.

If you unplug the filter and unscrew the faceplate before carefully removing it is there a test socket behind it?

If there is, plug the filter into this and run tests again.

Have you got a STATIC WAN IP address ?

If so, when you login to your Plusnet "Member Centre", does the "Current Line Speed" still show 22Mbps ?

If so, you'll need a member of staff to manually update your "Current Line Speed" to at least 74Mb or whatever is appropriate.

This will be caused by the restrictive profile not being updated correctly when you upgraded (presumably from ADSL2+)

I read that as an UPGRADE from ADSL2+ to SOGEA, not as a new customer.

I am a new customer, never been on plusnet. previous was EE

Done few speed tests from various sites, it definitely gets stuck on 22mb
