On my VDSL SoGEA connection, I've just tested "show adsl" on both a DrayTek Vigor 130 and Vigor 166 modem,

the resulting display is the same as that produced by "vdsl status" and "adsl status" CLI commands

The upload IP Profile is the MAXIMUM data rate your modem will be allowed to transmit to the FTTC cabinet.

It is likely that you've been provisioned on the old FTTC 40/10Mbps lower speed tier.

As a new customer on the 'fibre' product (without landline phone) you should have been on SoGEA 80/20Mbps

not that it looks like your line could ever achieve those speeds

No, your reduced download speed is being throttled by the 7.21Mbps download IP Profile.

Your Smart Queue would only have an impact if the speed you set was lower than the IP Profile (which it isn't).

 

 

I think your next step is to get Plusnet to schedule an Openreach engineer visit, as you now have the evidence that your upload speed can drop to ZERO.  That explains why your original graphs were covered in yellow latency spikes, and those IP Profile figures also explain why applying Smart Queue QoS didn't completely resolve your connection problems.

SoGEA will be provisioned on a 40/10 profile where the line estimates are such that there's no prospect of getting anywhere close to 40Mb.

Superusers are not staff, but they do have a direct line of communication into the business in order to raise issues, concerns and feedback from the community.
