Current Line Speed reset

Could I ask for the account setting 'Current Line Speed (Download)' to be reset/increased to some higher value as it hasnt tracked a small increase in line-speed and IP Profile that came with the Hub 2?

Re: Current Line Speed reset

Unless you have a static IP, Current line speed has no effect

Re: Current Line Speed reset

In that case you'll have to wait for a staff member, or call in

Re: Current Line Speed reset

Ive tried to resolve this by calling in but the agent concluded that it was a job for Openreach - so I gave up

So as Ive had it successfully changed in the past by PN, is it possible to have my Current Line Speed reset or increased from its current value of 44.2Mbs

Re: Current Line Speed reset

I see see from older posts that I should probably have used the term Plusnet Profile on the call - or maybe Plusnet Connection Profile or is it Connection Profile - instead of Current Line Speed to avoid the confusion with IP Profile or Stability Profile which arent PN things. Maybe it's time to sign up for Twitter as a way of getting in touch.

Fix

Thanks for reaching out to us @jwsg and I am very sorry for the time it's taken to get back to you about this. I've had a look over the account today and I've made an adjustment to the profile now - hopefully that will reflect on your end soo, but if not just drop us another message in here and I'll get back to you asap Smiley

Re: Current Line Speed reset

Thank you @TheMightyAJ

I dropped the session but when I reconnected the router stayed at steady orange

i rebooted the Hub 2 and again it stayed at steady orange

I tried the get connected option on the router but that wasnt able to recover and suggested a call to support

I phoned support and explained what had happened and the agent ran a test after which they mentioned seeing login errors

I manually re-entered the password and luckily it connected - so for some reason the password had been corrupted. I've never actually entered the login details on the Hub 2 as it auto-filled the user ID and password fields on first connection

Re: Current Line Speed reset

Hmm, that's peculiar. It shouldn't happen again, but if it does become a recurring issue just let us know and we'll be happy to investigate Smiley

Re: Current Line Speed reset

No problem - thanks anyway.

I mentioned what happened in case anyone gets steady orange and forgets - like I did - to try just entering a password - I'm sure I hadnt changed user ID or password fields myself.

The get connected recovery option in the Hub 2 which shows up after not connecting did suggest it was refreshing the login details but it didnt work in this case - so that might be worth bearing in mind.

Re: Current Line Speed reset

@jwsg  Looks like you have discovered a known "feature" of the Hub2, I believe it is a bug introduced in a recent firmware update. See the following thread....

https://community.plus.net/t5/My-Router/Further-observations-on-the-Plusnet-Hub2/m-p/1874115

I think the first rule with routers that don't connect is to check the Username and Password.🙄
