DLM reset

Can someone perform a DLM reset on my line. My latency has increased and I would like it to be lower.

Re: DLM reset

What do your router stats show?  If the DLM has adjusted your line profile, there will be a good reason for that; not until that cause has been identified and corrected is it prudent to do a DML reset.

Broadband is not going to work well if the "phone" line is not working properly.

Please perform a quiet line test - dial 17070 select option 2 using a corded phone plugged into the test socket behind the face plate of the master socket. It should be silent. A noisy phone line (or no dial tone) will have a marked adverse impact on the performance of broadband.

If the line is noisy or there is no dial tone, then a PHONE LINE fault needs to be raised with your phone provider. If this is PlusNet, you can report a fault on line using the button below.  From the Q&A list, choose the one which matches the problem, 'open' the 'section' and click the trouble-shooter link.  NB: If you receive a failure message (rather than a log-in prompt) then log-in to the user portal in a different browser tab and attempt to use the trouble-shooter again.

Re: DLM reset

It's been over 16 days and the DLM hasn't reset. This is why I'm requesting one.

Re: DLM reset

Hey @MinniMan,

I'm really sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with the latency. Beyond this, have you noticed any other changes to the performance of the connection? For example, are the speeds generally lower, or have any dropouts occurred? Testing the line today, nothing seems out of place from our end of things, so I just want to see if anything changed on your end before making any changes Smiley

Re: DLM reset

I'm not having any speed issues and I'm not experiencing any dropouts. Is it possible to get a DLM reset to lower my latency?

Re: DLM reset

When you say that you're experiencing issues with the latency, is this in regards to a particular service? For example, in online multiplayer video games?

Re: DLM reset

It's across the across the board including speed tests and online gaming.

Re: DLM reset

Are you connecting via Ethernet cable or over Wi-Fi? Also, is the router setup within the master socket at the address or an extension socket?

Re: DLM reset

To be honest, looking over the line stats, I haven't been able to detect any issues with the performance on our end of things and certainly nothing that would be fixed with a DLM Reset. Please could you run another test when this next occurs and post the results here onto the forums?

Re: DLM reset

My speed test results are attached. Can interleaving be switched to fast path to help reduce my latency?

Re: DLM reset

@MinniMan  Plusnet have no control over FTTC line parameters such as interleaving, it is all done by the automatic Openreach DLM system. A DLM reset is generally used when the line has been banded, that is capped at a reduced speed because of a fault. This does not apply to your situation so as @TheMightyAJ has said a DLM reset will not do anything for you.
