Does sending HELP to 07800 008121 Do anything?

@jab1  - After finding it on our website I'm not sure at all now, I've found this on our website @ https://www.plus.net/help/report-a-problem/broadband/ so I've passed on that people aren't getting a response back from it incase there's an issue.

Fair enough @James30 . I only queried your statement as , AIUI, that number and its associated action, is to determine, automatically, if a subscriber has an issue, based on automated tests. Unfortunately, those tests on occasion, return false positive/negative results, which is why, when I point customers to the links, I ask them to report the responses as it sometimes needs manual intervention.

No. Sending 'HELP' won't help.

That is the Plusnet automated line test phone number. It's correct use is, assuming a Plusnet landline, to send a text to 07800 008121 as follows:

PHONE <landline number to test>

For a BT supplied landline (this will redirect automatically to the Plusnet tester if a Plusnet line is detected) text to 61998:

PHONE <landline number to test>

Just tried this & I least I got a response, it was quite funny as I had no idea what the number is/was it's never been used, so had to logon to our account to find it.
