Re: Every Monday I lose connection

@Warius

I was looking for you to post the full information from the hub broadband page obscuring your username, sorry if I was not clear. Please post these details

Edit: it would be helpful export the technical Log >Event Log as a text file and attach to your next post.

Advanced settings >Technical Log > Event Log >Export

Re: Every Monday I lose connection

I haven't the foggiest how unihomes do their stuff

There's a thread here https://community.plus.net/t5/My-Order/Issue-Upgrading-To-SuperFast-Fibre-Optic/td-p/1826010/page/3 which gives some insight into how unihomes operate. If that's typical, then I'm afraid it doesn't bode well...

Superusers are not staff, but they do have a direct line of communication into the business in order to raise issues, concerns and feedback from the community.

Which is why it's a bit of a conundrum Smiley

Re: Every Monday I lose connection

A TTB “fibre” connection I oversee doesn’t need a username and password and it doesn’t self-restart periodically.

https://community.talktalk.co.uk/t5/Articles/Set-up-a-non-TalkTalk-router/ta-p/2205383

The non-TTB router I use won’t let me leave the username and password blank but it doesn’t matter what I enter, the service always connects. Maybe the OP’s service is ignoring the @plusdsl credentials and just working. Perhaps the OP could sign in to the member centre with the Plusnet credentials and see what service they are supposed to have? Or maybe this is bundled and concealed through Unihomes.

Re: Every Monday I lose connection

@edwh A good thought, but if the OP has a PN Hub, the chances are they will have a PN connection - the kit BT/PN/EE supply will only work on a connection to one of their services - i.e. won't work on TalkTalk.

Why is that? How does it enforce that restriction?

Re: Every Monday I lose connection

You will have to ask BT/PN/EE that question - I don't work for them.

Re: Every Monday I lose connection

How does it enforce that restriction?

1) The Internet connection type is fixed on PPPoE , which precludes any ISP that uses DHCP e.g TT

2) The PPPoE username field will only accept a BT/EE/PN 'realm' e.g plusdsl.net

Thanks, @MisterW - thought it was something in that area, but don't have time to research.

Re: Every Monday I lose connection

@Warius  The Connection status shot, and the log are both interesting. Your IP address, default gateway and DNS servers do not look to be those of Plusnet, despite you having a PN username.

Your error log also appears to be missing a chunk of data. This could all be part of the way unihomes operate, but it looks extremely strange to me.

Re: Every Monday I lose connection

@jab1  The router has been setup for Talk Talk, it is their ip addresses.

Looks like it may still be on the PN management platform though.

The good news it is getting max speeds. Shame the advanced settings were not shown!

Re: Every Monday I lose connection

@Mustrum I thought it might be something like that, based  on previous posts, but I am not surprised the OP is having problems and there is missing data in the Error log - from what has been said previously, TT use DHCP, whereas PN use PPOE.

I'm going to stay quiet, because this looks like a real rats nest of a situation.
