Quote from: lenny Still happening . and now have crackling on the phone line
Hi Chris,
Well that's your issue! There is no point looking at BB stats whilst the line is noisy. If PN provide your PHONE service, please use the phone faults link below to report a noisy (intermittently?) phone line fault. Otherwise, do the same with your phone provider, but do not mention you have a broadband issue to them!

Can you post a VR plot so we can see if there is a clear pattern of problems possibly coincident with the street lights switching on/off.
Any chance of a CLT report please, particularly ac balance.
Thanks,
Kevin

Do not seem to be able to access that. Think I'll need to take a closer look at the service and establish access to it.

That's fab, is there a SNRM plot please? There is clearly something going on here which is time related. You might get stability (but at a lower speed) if your force a resynch at night time. Not ideal, but until we can get the line looked at, it should reduce the level of disconnects.
I've just reread the thread....
If I accept that your reported attenuation is correct, then the line is synching a lot faster than might be reasonably expected. That could contribute to the error rate. What does this http://www.kitz.co.uk/adsl/adslchecker.php suggest for line length and speed please? Also see if 21CN is available on your exchange.
Please keep doing quiet line checks through the evening. Noise issues can be intermittent and therefore difficult to resolve.
What's the mode being used please? I'm unlikely to provide insight to its performance, but there are others around here who might. Have you adjusted any settings to squeeze more speed out of it?
Really need CRT to pick up your fault ticket mentioned in the first post.

I am on a 20cn exchange on adsl upto 2mb speed , I use a billion 7800 router which connects at 6db with a sync speed of approx 4242 I have tweaked the snr higher to 7.5db to try and decrease the errors which worked quite well giving me a stableish speed of 3.5mb up until about 7 days ago when I get these errors which a uses the resync.

The information you've provided is simply excellent - you've covered all of the major points of investigation in hours which usually takes days. The SNRM plot is terrible. There is clearly interference from somewhere. This needs PlusNET to progress your open fault report. Hopefully the information you've posted here will be helpful.
It would do no harm to post those images to the support ticket.
I'm suspicious of the reported attenuation, did you look for the reported line length via the previous link I posted?
About all you can do now is to wander around the street lights with a portable AM radio - see http://www.kitz.co.uk/adsl/rein.htm#REIN_identify
HTH,
