Fault finding methodology

Hi
I have a hub2 in bridging mode with a Nethear Nighthawk router.
Hub2 is showing pink as normal but no internet at router. Too tired to do much tonight other than obvious checks. Plugged in a phone, there’s a dial tone. Checked teenage not nicked around with cables and all looks ok.
So tomorrow looking for a game plan…
Thinking first check cable between hub and router. Then looking for best things to try thereafter as definitely don’t relish the idea of factory resetting everything to try again!
Thanks

Re: Fault finding methodology

You could put your phone number in to the Zen Broadband Status checker

to see if there is a general broadband problem in your phone area.

It might save you a lot of messing around with cables etc, if there is an outage !

You could connect a laptop (using the same subnet) to one of the spare LAN ports of the Hub-2 and check the DSL status etc.

You could pull the WAN cable out of the router and plug that into a laptop, then set the laptop ethernet port to be a PPPoE network connection and enter your Plusnet username and password, and you should be able to get an online connection using the Hub-2 still in bridge mode.
