Re: Fibre broadband drop out

Sorry - to be honest, I am not surprised - that downstream SNR is much too low for your line length. Keep your eyes on it over the weekend, and post back if you get more.

Re: Fibre broadband drop out

@jab1  It's nothing to do with the SNR value, I think the engineer was one of the type that changes the master socket and blames it for the fault and does not check anything else. Although it was a very odd looking front plate on the old master socket.

@Bridiebabes You still have a line fault, you have had a significant change in the line attenuation which should never happen, so your speed has dropped by over 50%. There must be a bad joint somewhere on the line.

You need to get back to Plusnet and tell them the fault has not been fixed.☹️

Re: Fibre broadband drop out

@RealAleMadrid Thanks for picking up on the attenuation - I admit to not spotting it. However, I still think, given the figures in those screenshots, such a low SNR is not going t help, although I totally agree @Bridiebabes needs to get back onto PN and ask them to get the line properly checked - there is obviously still a major fault somewhere, and given it is a SOGEA connection, that will be somewhere in the OR infrastructure.

Re: Fibre broadband drop out

@Bridiebabes Hiya, I tried to ring to book in a visit as the test is still failing from our end. Can you either let us know your availability Monday-Friday 8-1 or 1-6 or call us on 08004320200.

I assume you have the router in the master socket with no other telephony gear connected through extensions, bar a filter if you have a non prefiltered socket?

Re: Fibre broadband drop out

Hi James

Yes sorry did see the phone call, I was in a meeting.

The socket was changed by the engineer Saturday to a MK4 socket so the filter he said is built into the socket.

I'm free anytime as I'm off for the summer holiday

Thank you
