Yes wrootrhino, I am in a similar situation to you, I'm also being offered an "upgrade" to fibre only (no landline)
It actually costs less than staying with my current product; unlimited fibre and a landline.
Some other providers are now including a digital voice landline (whether you want it or not) with all broadband packages.
Plusnet are clearly not interested in supplying landlines after the PSTN shutdown

@dejjones The decision for the Plusnet brand not to offer VoIP service was taken by the brands owners - BT Group PLC.

Yes I've seen that before.
But I.m just wondering how they're going to survive, if others are including digital voice at no extra cost?

Well, if I was still a PN customer, I'd be perfectly happy - I haven't used my 'landline' for outgoing calls, except to 'free' numbers for at least 5 years.

I'm still a PN customer at the moment and I have been waiting for the right time to move to a digital voice landline without any cost.
I think the time has come, and sadly I'll be leaving PN after 20 years.
I, like you, only use the landline for free and incoming calls, but it's always better to have it there rather than not.

Hello everyone. Thanks for the help. just for clarity I use a landline because:
mobile signal is rubbish where I live
My Mum is 95, partly deaf and can only hear the landline as mobile drops in and out and has lots of "Noise"
I do use wi-fi calling from my mobile but oit is not as clear as the land line
And yes, I have stayed with Plusnet to keep my wifes email address as they do not offer forwarding
