Ooops, sorry - when @hugonebula said he had 'found one' I thought he was referring to the logs on the Zyxtel - maybe I should cancel my subscription to this topic. 😉

Every time any modem is powered on it will report DSL Link UP, this HUB has been switched off many times recently ONLY two DSL link drops
Correct. I had a new kitchen fitted during October which caused the electrics to be turned off several times. Disconnections aren't my current problem. Slowing down without disconnecting is.

Unless the speed tests and bufferbloat tests are performed on a wired network with no other devices connected there are not really of much help.
High ping can be caused by a week wireless signal, which in turn reduces the connection speed
For over a week, these tests have been on a wired connection. Even before that it makes little to no difference to the speed whether the device is wired or wifi.
Wifi is quite strong around my house.

Yes, I agree with that - IMO the upload sync speed should be higher (which would help the bufferbloat)
The thing to do would be relocate the router next to the Master Socket, then see what the connection is capable of when connected to the internal "TEST" socket (to eliminate the internal house phone and data wiring) using a dangly xDSL filter to adapt from the "TEST" phone socket to the router cable's RJ11 plug.
See YouTube video How to Connect into the Master Test Socket

I disagree, it looks OK to me !
I typically run my VDSL2 connection SNR margin around 2 or 3dB for maximum speed and minimal errors, but the modem is indefinitely happy down to zero.
However my personal best record for lowest ever SNR margin and still holding a usable connection was MINUS 4dB
captured here for bragging rights (LOL) -

What about the first of the logs from the Zyxtel @hugonebula posted earlier today - that, unless I am mistaken was a 'today' event, and I assume it hadn't been switched just before then - I could be wrong, and I'm not being difficult - honest 😀.
However, the OPs speeds are still low, with a stupidly low D/S SNR to boot.
All yours for tonight anyway - I have some TV to catch up on.
I replaced the Hub 2 router with my old Zyxel router about 15:00. I haven't worked out how to get a log.

This is the handbook I'm looking at - https://setuprouter.com/router/zyxel/vmg8924-b10a/2059.pdf
Does the section 22.1 on "Log", page 267, help at all ?

Not at all, you've been incredibly helpful to a pain-in-the-[-Censored-] numpty.

I can get to the logs. I'm not sure what to include or not:
It seems to produce pages of stuff that don't have the same level of detail as the Hub 2 logs, or are repetitive.

Thank you for your help.
Here's hoping my connection stays on long enough for a Netflix episode.

I'll let @jab1 continue to help you with the logs and connection issues,
I'll keep an eye on this topic and contribute by helping with connection settings and reducing bufferbloat.
I'm done for today, good luck with your hopefully more responsive QoS managed connection !

My understanding - and I am open to correction, is that, especially over a long copper run - as the OP has, such a low SNR will not maintain a stable connection, and the fact that his speed has obviously been 'managed' by the DLM tools, indicates that it is not optimal.

re post #67
In order to investigate the speed issue, sight of the 'System' and 'PPOE' files may help - again I don't know, as I have no experience of that router, but it is worth a try.

If you look at the Hub two log which a has detailed history for the Hub you would see
10:15:31, 09 Nov. DSL Link Down: duration was 91381 seconds
10:15:31, 09 Nov. PPP: LCP down
After that date there are NO DSL link or PPP LCP down messages, after that date all the DSL link UP messages are due to the Hub being restarted for what ever reason.
Do you have any redundant phone extension cables connected to the master socket? these can act as aerials for noise and also increase the overall total distance to copper line as calculated by the Line Management and displayed on the modem.

@Dan_the_Van My sincere apologies 😀 - I apparently still think we are in November, i.e I thought those were current.
As I said before, maybe I should duck out of this one.

I think for now it would be sensible to see if the QOS applied to the current router improves things.
Dan.

Attached is the whole log. There's only a few PPoE entries, and no System.
