Do you have any redundant phone extension cables connected to the master socket? these can act as aerials for noise and also increase the overall total distance to copper line as calculated by the Line Management and displayed on the modem.
I do. Nothing plugged into them ATM. I had to dig out an old plug-in phone from the back of the cupboard.
Trust me, it's a fair distance to the exchange.

That is one of the most useless error log files I've ever seen - tells absolutely nothing in an intelligible form.

I think for now it would be sensible to see if the QOS applied to the current router improves things.
Fingers crossed, but it could just be following the pattern of a few bad days followed by a few good weeks.

@hugonebula As @Dan_the_Van says , lets see if your 'quick dropouts' stabilise with this new router, but we still need - later possibly - what is causing your connection speed to be so low.

Is it worth you posting a screenshot of the Zyxel VMG8924's xDSL line status as it is today, so we have a record of what it currently looks like ?
Then later we can -
1) Compare it with what the Hub 2 showed.
2) Check on it in ten days or so when the line DLM has adjusted to the new router.
3) Use for reference if you wanted to see what sync speeds your VDSL landline is capable of - by plugging the router into the Master "TEST" socket (as suggested in Reply #63).
4) Have something to compare with, if your line goes unstable again.
Here is the relevant page as shown in the handbook -

While you are in the Zyxel VMG8924's setup screens,
I noticed in your log file that there were a lot of useless "UPnP" entries being recorded.
These days "UPnP" is considered an obsolete technology and a potential security hazard if left enabled.
Unless you have a specific known reason to use it, I would recommend disabling it.
First set
"UPnP NAT-T State" to "Disable"
Then set
"UPnP State" to "Disable"
and then click on the "Apply" button
The relevant page shown in the handbook is this -

I can get to the logs. I'm not sure what to include or not:
It seems to produce pages of stuff that don't have the same level of detail as the Hub 2 logs, or are repetitive.
The only logs that I would choose to 'tick' would be -
System
PPPoE
QoS
TR-069
NTP
XDSL
Internet

I thought it was 'cos I was at the extreme end of a piece of knotted string.😢

It probably is - I had forgotten the information you provided at the beginning of this topic - but with that line length, unless it is brand new cable and connection, I am still of the opinion, personally, that your SNR is too low to compensate for any errors - and looking at the availability checker results, you appear to be on an 'impacted' connection, so that low figure will be be helping.

I am not doubting what you are saying, but looking at the Hub Two event log the SNR has always been low
10:56:52, 04 Mar. DSL Link Up: Down Rate=20176kbps, Up Rate=1103kbps; SNR Margin Down=3.3dB, Up=6.0dB
except for one occasion
14:30:25, 09 Oct. DSL Link Up: Down Rate=14116kbps, Up Rate=1155kbps; SNR Margin Down=8.8dB, Up=6.1dB
The next resync returned it to
17:08:39, 09 Oct. DSL Link Up: Down Rate=19603kbps, Up Rate=1155kbps; SNR Margin Down=3.4dB, Up=6.0dB
Very much what is seen now the Zyxel router
The problem we have is the Hub has been powered off many time so we'll never know if the line is stable on not, hopefully now the Zyxel will left turned on unless absolutely necessary to reboot, I strongly suggest capturing logs and xDSL stats first before any reboot
It's slowness which is being investigated not broadband disconnects
I'm will now be only monitoring this thread now as I feel I can add no more.

@Dan_the_Van I know you are now only monitoring, but unless the Hub2 and the Zyxel are using different criteria for monitoring attenuation, something is weird as they report very different figures.
I too now feel it is time to monitor only.

No, your connection if faster than the only known case of xDSL over wet string (also known as "Stringband")
See - ISPreview : UK ISP experiment gets ADSL broadband to work over wet string 🤣
