Intermittent unable to connect to wbsites

I am having the same problems as Derek on this earlier thread

https://community.plus.net/t5/Broadband/Internet-Connection-Intermittent-Drop-Outs/td-p/1895385

It happens sporadically and lasts for about 1 to 5 minutes then back to normal. I get the same screen as Derek posted on the above thread.

He seems to have cured the problem by changing the DNS settings.

My question is how to do that. I go into "network and sharing" in the control panel, click change adapter settings which shows my ip4v DNS as 192.168.1.154 which is what I use to log into the router.

There is no apparent way to alter that setting.

Windows 7 (I know!)

Thanks

@plustrev

 That’s the IP address allocated to your computer by the Hub. You need to change the choice of DNS server from auto to manual before entering your choice. See.  https://blog.systoolsgroup.com/dns-server-on-windows-7/

For Google the Primary Resolver is 8.8.8.8 and Secondary 8.8.4.4.
