My internet speed is bottoming out sporadically every minute & a half to 2 mins.
5 times out of 6, the speed test is fine but on the 6th test , the speed is zero before it returns to normal. This is causing my AWS connection to fluctuate from 25ms to 2380ms & when I take a call, AWS grinds to a halt until the caller hangs up & then the screen returns.
Using an Ethernet Cat 8 cable connection. Only one device connected to the router.
Tried a different ADSL Microfilter & line & connected to the test socket but no difference.
Any help appreciated as it is greatly impacting my ability to work.
Fixed! Go to the fix.

@thehiker8 What is AWS? - pardon my ignorance.
Does a PC/laptop display the same behaviour in normal browsing?

Hi John, It's Amazon WorkSpace, a remote desktop which I use for work. Any small amounts of latency will really impact it's operation. Yes running tests outside of AWS on normal windows yileds the same result. Most of the tests are fine but then one will come back below the min guaranteed speed of 2.5Mbs

@thehiker8 do I take it from your comment that you are on an ADSL connection. Is FTTC not available? It won't necessarily sort your ping rates out, but it is (a) more resilient and (b) faster.

Pity about FTTC. can you afford the time to wait ~90 minutes between Hubs - see if you get a different IP?

Internet Protocol Address. It is just a thought that new one may give different routing and possibly avoid those high ping spikes, but I could be wrong.

Are you certain that there are no other background tasks, uploading or downloading, running at the times when you experience this problem?
You can only use your slow data rate once.

A replacement Hub 2 has not solved it. The issue continued throughout the day yesterday from 8am to 7:15pm & is continuing again this morning. An average speed of 14Mbps and then bottoms out for a split second every 2/3 mins & back to 14. The remote desktop is constantly lagging & trying to catch itself up.
