My broadband doesn't reach all around my (quite small) house - how can I make it stronger?

I can't use the wifi reliably in my kitchen, though it works in the rest of the house. I only live in a terraced house with a kitchen on the back, not a mansion, and I only have one place to plug in the router so I can't move it. I did once buy a booster from Amazon but it didn't make any difference so it got returned.

It didn't used to be anything more than an annoyance but now my daughter wants to do her homework at the kitchen table it's really inconvenient.

Use this forum's SEARCH box for this; lots of info there on previous posts on subject, such as splitting frequencies with different SSID's/ changing channel etc; if you have the PN Hub One, it's wifi performance is underwhelming.

@Julia1 Welcome to the forums. How old/new is your house? if you have no issues anywhere else, this suggests the is something in, or in between your Hubs location and the kitchen.

it's an old house with an extension, however the whole place is open plan

I don't understand the splitting channels and SSID stuff. Is it possible to get wifi in my kitchen without this level of knowledge?

OK, Julia. So no foil-backed insulation, which was my first thought. You say you can get a signal 'all over the rest of the house' - upstairs? If it is only in the kitchen area, then there is something blocking the signal in that area.

Which Hub have you  got?

It may be possible to over-ride the problem by using power-line adapters, but that will need input from other Community members, as I have no knowledge of them.
