Hi, I have been with Plusnet 2 weeks tomorrow 22nd after not renewing contract with BT as Plusnet was half the price.
My issue is Plusnet adviser told MeI i would get 50mb which i though was better then BT as i was getting between 32-36Mb the last 2 years. I have been doing speed tests everyday and its maxing out at 37Mb so what's going on? Last night it was dropping down to 22Mb. The package states 38-52Mb, So I'm not even getting the minimum. Surely there must be something not right here.

Can you confirm you're on "Fibre" (FTTC) rather than "Full Fibre" (FTTP).
If so you've posted on the wrong board. One of the Mods will be along in due course to move it.
Brian
Fix removed as it does not address the topic issue.

@stuartstephen perhaps the first thing to do is check whether the Plusnet fault detection 'bot' can see any issues ?

The package speeds are line sync speeds, not data transfer speeds. What does your router report here - Technical log ?
This is the bit we are interested in...
In another browser tab, login into the Plusnet user portal BEFORE clicking the fault & ticket links

Download: 50Mb
Upload: 6 - 8Mb
These are the speeds your line is capable of at peak times.
Current line speed: 80Mb

DATA speed tests are entirely different incorporating everything between your computer and the speed test service much of which is not within the ISP’s control. Was the speed test done over WiFi or over Ethernet with WiFi turned off? Can you be certain that there was no concurrent activity on the device or other devices connected to the network?
Can you be sure that your device can support faster transfer speeds?
Are you experiencing any real issue with the speed you have got? Speed is not everything - dependable stable speed is better than faster unstable speed. The speed and stability balance is a product of the length of the copper circuit between the cabinet and your home.
The 80mbps is clearly not correct - that will be provisioned product speed - the line will perform up to that as it is capable of sustaining. There are detailed complexities around that figure related to how account is connected (Plusnet’s high touch or low touch networks). For the low touch users (the majority) the figure now reflects the provisioned product.
You could have a line fault but I think that’s unlikely - did you follow the advice to raise a fault report?

Sorry for late reply, Speedtest is over wi fi, Its same speed through laptop or PC. Its just the fact i was getting the same speed with BT, I switched to plusnet as Adviser told Me i would get 50Mb, And line supports it. If i knew i was getting same speed with plusnet I would have just stayed with BT

Just looking at you attenuation figures, @stuartstephen , that actual speed looks about right - you are quite a distance from the street cab, with a corresponding long 'last mile' of copper, and that is dictating your actual speed.
