Not so sticky dynamic ip

There are many posts on the forum regarding the stickiness of the dynamic ip's. General consensus is that they are regionally allocated now, so more likely to retain the same one. My sky line had the same ip for my 18 month contract, despite some rather large outages. I have had 3 different ip addresses now on my "always on" fttp connection! Router uptime doesn't appear to be the best. I'm not that worried and don't need a fixed ip, but got used to not having to keep creating new TTB BQM's every few days.

Re: Not so sticky dynamic ip

@Marksfish - yes that's been my experience too. The FTTP dynamic IP seems to be be very dynamic changing at even the shortest outage.  I have been having router problems (with a Synology WRX560) and each time I have rebooted it or swapped it out for a backup the IP changes.... doesn't seem to stick at all.

I was with EE untill about a month ago when I moved back to Plusnet, with EE the IP seemed to be reasonably sticky requiring a longer outage to change.

Yes I have disabled my TBB BQM and just enable it for a while when I want a benchmark of how the connection is performing.
