Hey!
I'm currently getting a brief ping/packet loss issue with Nvidia GeForce Now service. I also have a very wobbly ping chart in with an MMO I also play
Its quite the issue for me due to cloud gaming, needs to be fully stable otherwise it jerks and stutters
When I'm on my own, im using 45 out of 61mb download, it runs ok with rare stutters for cloud gaming
With another person on the wifi watching netflix, it gets worse, so i tried to run a test of 720p cloud gaming (@ 14 Mbps) with netflix running on another device with no success
I've also port forwarded GFN application and tried running it in web browser with same results
I've added 2 screenshots with basic info, let me know if you need any other tests done

In my experience the way to minimise ping lags when simultaneously streaming video is to apply Quality Of Service (QOS) to the upstream.
The upstream gaming packets & pings are completing with the streaming acknowledgements and sometimes the pings lose out.
I do not use the Plusnet router, I use a router running OpenWRT with the Smart Queue Management package added.
Regards
Richard

I would agree with @RichardB the fix (if there is a fix) would probably be a better router than the Plusnet issue device.
Just to check, I assume you are using a wired (rather than wireless) connection to the router. If not, trying a cable (long if needed) is the first thing to try.
If you are using WiFi, I've seen a similar phenomenon with gaming before, and after much messing around, a cable was the fix.
If you do have to use WiFi then look for a router with both Quality Of Service settings and the latest WiFi standard (Wifi 6 or 6E).
It won't be cheap but neither is a high specification PC.

Wireless will make things worse.
Sadly, I think it's buying a better router that will help.
I don't personally have a recommendation but I suggest asking your gaming friends if they have suggestions.

@amandapotter64 , I agree with the previous contributors, you probably need a new router with QoS or SQM.
There is a test you can do to see whether QoS or SQM is needed on your connection.
Try running this - https://www.waveform.com/tools/bufferbloat
For gaming usage, you should be aiming for -
- "Bufferbloat Grade" of A+
- "Latency Download Active" of +5ms or less
- "Latency Upload Active" of +5ms or less
There is some useful advice on that website, after the test has shown your results

Yikes ! that is quite a bit worse than +5ms latency
On the bright side, you've got just enough time to research a new router before the Boxing Day Sales ! 🙄
