Plusnet 2 WiFi keeps dropping out

I have had a good look at mine, there is no slot. It was bought without it.

Could this problem be caused by co-channel WiFi interference from a neighbour disrupting the Op's own signal, rather than a problem with their router?

@Mr_Paul Possibly, but without a little more detail it is unwise to guess. From experience though, I am still inclined to suspect a network issue.

We'll see when the OP has the laptop running and we can get more information.

Some folk describe their internet connection as WiFi, this make establishing the issue more difficult as the investigations go down the wrong path, assuming a WiFi issue rather than an underlying internet issue

If you think it is WiFi drops have you noticed how many signal strength bars on the status at the top of the screen are being displayed?

What is being displayed on the screen during these drops?

OP needs to check that the iPad is connected to the router, not an access point or extender some where else in the building. Possibly even connected to a neighbours device...

Yes they do - it is a particular "bugbear" of mine.

But if people are unable to use the correct terminology, then they can expect to get misleading advice in return.

My father was similar when he first got a computer about 20 years ago and would phone me when he had a problem. Unfortunately he had a habit of calling the different components by the wrong name - but used the name of a different part instead:

So he might say that he was typing away on the hard drive when random characters started appearing on the power supply!

It was very confusing!
