My guess is that existing contracts will be honoured (by Plusnet) to their minimum term (the date the contract ends) and customers will then need to find a new supplier (Plusnet or others).
I've had an ISP close an email service I've been using (twice) and it is a complete pain to shift everything.
Personally I've gone for Microsoft's Outlook as the best (or perhaps least bad) of the free options.
I've also got accounts with some other major players but (perhaps unsurprisingly) the Outlook service works best with their Outlook email client.
What I did, was copy all the mails from the closing account into a folder in the new account. Assuming you don't have loads of old email that can be doable.
I made a folder for recieved and another folder for sent.
I am the satisfied customer....
