I might give it try a try in the morning and see how I get on

Re: Poor Speeds And Dropouts

@DerekW   -  Might as well have both, so we know the limits of the bad and too good !

Then we'll be able to tune the numbers as best compromise between speed and latency.

At this stage all you need to do is eliminate the blue spikes, because they have been known to cause line drops.

So a bufferbloat score of say 'C' would be enough for you to have one less potential cause for instability.

@Anonymous

Here you go

The speed given on the A+ one is below my guaranteed minimum - without the QoS turned on I regularly hit speeds of 69 up and 18 down.

Ok, that's a good start.

Have you adjusted anything in the "Advanced" settings part of the "QoS" page ?

Can you do a screenshot of the "QoS" page with the "Advanced" section showing

Re: Poor Speeds And Dropouts

I'm a bit baffled by the speeds in your "A+" result, because on my router's QoS, the bufferbloat up and down speed results are the same as the limiter bandwidth numbers that I've entered,  therefore I was expecting your test result to be 65/15.

When I saw your actual result was about 80% of the bandwidth numbers, I wondered whether your Advanced High Priority slider was set to 80%,  but it doesn't appear to be that.

Anyway the idea here is to increase your up and download bandwidth numbers in small steps, then do a bufferbloat test, until you get back to a decent speed, without the bufferbloat grade being any worse than say a "B" or "C".

So changing one thing at a time.  What bufferbloat do you get with Upload Bandwidth set to 18

Re: Poor Speeds And Dropouts

Did you mean  18/65  or   18/70  ?

You're messing up my spreadsheet !  😃

Re: Poor Speeds And Dropouts

It's interesting that the speed result only changes by about 80% of the step size of the bandwidth change.

OK next, can you do a   19/74   and a   20/80

to see what that tells us !
