Re: Poor Speeds And Dropouts

@Anonymous

Sorry for the delayed reply, I will off to bed soon as well

I was getting ahead of myself and having fun learning so was doing incremental rises and see what I got with each one.

I did 8 changes in all and ended up with B grade and speeds that I think are acceptable

19 - 7019 - 7019 - 7519 - 7520 - 7520 - 7520 - 8020 - 8021 - 8021 - 8021 - 8521 - 8521 - 9021 - 9021 - 8821 - 88

Re: Poor Speeds And Dropouts

@Anonymous

I am happy with that last B grade which was set at 21/88

I actually enjoyed myself and had fun this evening learning all of this so thank you very much for helping and sticking with me, it is very much appreciated.

Re: Poor Speeds And Dropouts

Good job,  I think you're getting the hang of it ! 😃

Looking at all that, if it were me, I would try running 20/85 for a while

and get a clean uninterrupted day of the BQM graph and then have a look to see if the blue spikes have disappeared.

You seem to have found the limiter edge points at 21/88,

I tend to run my connection at the edge points minus one for upload and minus 3 for download, hence suggesting 20/85

I'm glad you stuck with it and had fun,

Goodnight !

Re: Poor Speeds And Dropouts

I am not still here..... honest!

Have been playing around again, tried 20/85 and although I achieved "A" grade the speed dropped again

After doing lots of incremental changes I think I will stay with 21/88 as it is giving me the most consistent results that I am happy with.

I even got a bump up to "A" grade 😁

21 - 8821 - 88

Re: Poor Speeds And Dropouts

@Anonymous @Dan_the_Van

Well it has been a pretty uneventful day here as far as my router and connection goes.

I finally said enough was enough at around 2am with regards to tweaking the QoS as you will see from the BQM graph posted below.

My computer logged on the internet at around 09:30 and the horrible peak in the graph at around 11:30 to 12pm was due the some heavy software updates I was doing

So yes everything has been steady as a rock all day.

@Dan_the_Van I am guessing it will be OK to put the faceplate back on now?

Also think the poor old Hub2 is going back in it's box again.

I just want to say thank you to everyone for your help and input, it is very much appreciated.
