Regular random disconnects becoming frustrating

I first had this problem when I got a new router a few months back, but it seemed to settle down. Over the past couple of weeks I have been getting regular issues with my broadband disconnecting and the light going orange for a couple of minutes before returning. Being somebody who works from home and then uses streaming services in my free time, it is causing real issues. Trying to stream a sports event right now is proving a very frustrating experience. Its dropped out 4 or 5 times in the past 20 minutes or so. Getting to the point where i’m pretty fed up with the service i’m getting. Please help!

Re: Regular random disconnects becoming frustrating

I've has similar problems. The first 6 months or so of my subscription to Plusnet was trouble free but since then there have been connection problems.

During routine browsing or working from home, my internet connection is lost usually at least twice per day. Given that I'm not browsing or working from home all the time, the actual number of internet outages is likely to be much more than this. The sequence of events on my router is as follows:
Continuous blue light (connection OK)
Continuous orange light
Continuous orange with red "b"
Continuous blue light (connection OK)

The internet connection is lost when the light on the router is continuous orange. The outages typically last for a minute or two however sometimes the router has to be switched off & on again before the connection is restored. A few weeks ago I disconnected the landline handset from the socket, but this has not made any difference. Would be grateful for any advice from Plusnet. Thanks.

Re: Regular random disconnects becoming frustrating

Hi@andrew3498,

I'm sorry to see that disconnections have been a problem for you. I've just checked your account and can see it's been stable for just over 4 days, it would be best to keep a close eye on things though so I'll check back on this again tomorrow and so on for a few days to see if we need to take any action.

@malstuart, could you send me a PM with your username please so I can have a look into that for you?

Hello adamwalker, many thanks for getting in touch. I tried to send a PM but apparently, I do not have enough privileges. How else can I get in touch?

Thanks, malstuart

@malstuart

You need to make 3 more posts then you should have PM authorisation.

@malstuart You have to post a few more messages, I think 5 are needed, and possibly, log out for a while ( maybe 10 minutes ) and then log back in again to your forum account, though not sure about that.
