Slow internet speeds

I have been away for 2 weeks on holiday this month and when I got back my internet speed has dropped dramatically.

I had this issue a few months ago and was fixed after an engineer visit (I wasn't home at home as someone else let him in).

It went back up to about 60-65 MPS. Currently running at 40-45 MBPS on average on a good day, usually even slower at peak times and my internet also drops intermittently.

These tests were done directly from the master socket, without front plate, using the Plusnet hub. Phone line check is clear.

Why is there a drop again? I've just a logged a fault.

 

This is now 2nd or 3rd time where my speeds have dropped. I have 9 months left with Plusnet , any advice how I can terminate the contract early without penalty given the unsatisfactory speeds? Impossible to do any work at home or meetings with these speeds.

In (partial) answer to your 'any advice how I can terminate the contract early without penalty given the unsatisfactory speeds? ' question - If, as I suspect this is due to BT infrastructure issues, it won't make any difference who you move to - the issue will follow you.

I know you have logged a fault, but any chance of a Hub Help Desk screenshot, with personal details removed?

I'm planning to switch to G Network which is separate from BT infrastructure, it has been activated in my area.

I'm sorry for the issues you are having with your speed and for the hassle I know this will be causing. 

 

I can see that the fault has been raised with our supplier and we need to arrange an engineer. 

 

Please can you update the ticket here with your availability and let me know on this thread so I can pick this up.
