Speed has been halved from normal - and regular disconnections

Not sure if this is the right place for this

For the past few years I've been getting a stable 50+ download and around 10+ upload connection. There was the odd disconnect here and there also but I put up with it. However, recently, I can't exactly say when it started, my speed has plummeted to half. I ran a test on speedtest.net a few times over the past few days, using a server in the closest city to me, and the results were consistently as follows:

27 DL / 4.8 UL / Download Latency; 120 / Upload Latency 95 - This is literally half of my usual

I've done the following things: I have tested on different computers to see if it was a driver issue. Same problem. I have tested different ethernet cables. Same problem. Both wired and wifi have the same problem. I do not have a different router to try. I do not have a different dsl/phone splitter to try. I have reset my router many times.

Re: Speed has been halved from normal - and regular disconnections

@Buttercream Please read and follow the below:

First thing to check: Is your phoneline clear? Dial 17070 (preferably from a corded phone), select option 2. Once your phone number is confirmed, there should be silence on the line except for the regular 'Quiet Line Test' message - any other noise, report a PHONE problem via: https://www.plus.net/help/report-a-problem/phone/

If the phone test passes, report a broadband problem via: https://www.plus.net/help/report-a-problem/broadband/

Let us know the result - if the tests come back as clear but you still have a problem, we need to investigate further.

The above assumes you still have 'normal' landline connection - if you have a SOGEA (internet only) one the only option is to call Plusnet - 0330 123 9123
