I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to formally request the addition of a second static IP address to my existing residential account. I understand that Plusnet's current policy does not typically offer multiple static IP addresses for residential customers. However, I have discussed this matter with several knowledgeable individuals who have indicated that it is technically feasible from the backend, provided Plusnet initiates the required actions.
Given the unique requirements of my home network setup, the addition of a second static IP is crucial.I am more than willing to cover any associated setup fees or additional costs that may arise from this request. Additionally, I work from home and require the second static IP for authentication by firewalls to access services remotely. This second IP is essential for secure and reliable authentication. In order to separate traffic as I do host on my main IP. I have also spoken to other residential customers who have successfully obtained additional IPs by following a similar route and having them added to their accounts.
Additionally, I would appreciate if someone from the Net Ops team could assist me with changing my Reverse DNS (R-DNS). I understand that this process requires a specific "Net Ops" ticket to be raised, and I would be grateful if this could be facilitated at your earliest convenience.
I believe that accommodating this will significantly enhance my experience as a Plusnet customer and allow me to fully utilize the services you provide. Please let me know if there are any further details or actions required on my part to facilitate this request.

@ryhop19 It used to be possible to request blocks of 4 ( 2 usable ) & 8 ( 6 usable ) IPs but I'm afraid, like most ISPs, this hasn't been an option on residential accounts for some years now. Due to limits on IPV4 availablity, even getting them on business accounts is now less easy.
Even if it was available , the standard Plusnet router will not support multiple public IP's.
Can you not achieve your needs using suitable port forwarding ?

HI MisterW,
Thank you for your prompt response, it's less about port forwarding and more about presentation. As Ideally need my current IP for the "normal traffic" and the 2nd to be used with my port forwarded devices. I currently don't use the plusnet hub and have ensured my current router would be able to handle the additional IPs. I did have a block of /29 IPs from a company which used VPN to deliver them, however had issues with traffic only going one way.
Kind Regards,

@ryhop19 would the L2TP service from A & A https://www.aa.net.uk/broadband/l2tp-service/ be of use ?
You would need the business option at £15/m to have the option of multiple IP's
If your router can make the L2TP connection then it may be an option
I believe the A & A control panel also includes the facility to set your own rDNS

@ryhop19, I also work from home and have multiple static addresses (I'm no longer a Plusnet customer), but I use L2TP tunnels to achieve this. This has the advantage that I can fail-over from FTTP to 4G and keep the same public addresses active.
I use AAISP's L2TP service. They have a domestic and a business service.
The domestic costs £10pm, which provides one IPv4 and a block of IPv6 addresses, there is a speed cap of 400Mbps, so it may not suit everyone.
The business L2TP costs £15pm provides a single static IPv4, IPv6 block, plus additional /29 block of IPv4 available on request. The speed is capped at 600Mbps.
This may give you an option if Plusnet can't meet your needs.
