Temporary moving out & turning off my router

I'm moving out of my house on Monday for 12 weeks.

The router will be turned off while the builders are in, it could be left plugged in but there is a rewire going on so will be on/off at times.

Will this have any affect on my broadband by turning it off or on & off ?

Can i "pause" my contract for the duration of works?

Any help appreciated :O)

Re: Temporary moving out & turning off my router

Leave it turned off, that will not affect the broadband. Having it go off & on would potentially have an affect.

I dont think so.

Re: Temporary moving out & turning off my router

That would be a question for COTS.

Contact Customer Options Team (aka COTS)

COTs is the place to go to if you want to find out anything to do with your contract in respect of leaving, renewing or simply enquiring about early termination charges (ETCs). They have their own number and tend to answer quicker than the general customer service number.

Direct dial numbers

  • 0800 013 2632 or 0800 079 1133(from within the UK)
  • +44 330 123 9197 (from abroad)
  • Available...
    • 8am - 8pm Monday to Friday
    • 9am - 7pm Saturday
    • 9am - 6pm Sunday

Even it the answer is indeed "No!" you might wish to enquire about having outbound calls blocked whilst you are away.

@Grum01 The answer to "Can i "pause" my contract for the duration of works?" Unfortunately is no, however I can block outbound calls if that is something you would like?
