Tips on where to start - wifi dropping at around 11pm-1am every evening

I switched to plusnet from EE in the autumn and have a problem at some point between 11pm-1am every night. The support lines are closed then and the internet is fine during the day, so I'm not sure what information I should get in order to explain the issue to PlusNet. I'm not very tech savvy, so grateful for any tips about what to look out for and what tests to run for an intermittent problem at night? Many thanks in advance.

@RMKA Welcome to the forums. Two questions before we attempt to answer your query: (1) Are you really on ADSL, or FTTC? - this will influence some of the guidance. (2) Can you explain your problem(s) in a little more detail - without something to work on it is difficult to offer advice.

Hey @RMKA,

Just to follow up on what @jab1 has asked, is this regarding a Mobile or Home Broadband service? Smiley

@RMKA

The first thing to check is whether the lights are changing on your hub? If so what are they doing.

Next, is there anything being switched on or off when the failure occurs.

@TheMightyAJ / @Baldrick1  Methinks this is another time-waster . They signed out directly after apparently reading my initial reply.

@jab1

Or finished their lunchtime break and had to work?

Possible - but a quick reply would have been possible, it only takes a minute to say ' Thanks - I'll get back to you'

It does, but how often does that happen?

Very rarely, hence why I usually assume they are one-time waste of space posters, as mentioned above.

There's a lot of it about, isn't there.

Seems everyone with a slight problem wants to make it huge on here.

@YouKnowIThatGuy Don't quite get your point, but mine is simple: I have no issue with helping people, in fact that is why I'm still on the forum although no longer a PN customer, but ignorance gets up my nose.

If you are no longer a PN customer, you shouldn't be on the PN forums.

Even if the advice you are giving is good.

Re: Tips on where to start - wifi dropping at around 11pm-1am every evening

Was that a rhetorical WHY?

Simply put: Because it's not your concern.

Re: Tips on where to start - wifi dropping at around 11pm-1am every evening

It was not rhetorical at all. And why is it not my concern, if anyone can can register on the forums - and they do - why cannot someone who has spent 9+ years here continue to offer support, if they so wish?
