OK Craig - can you post a screenshot of your Technical log - Information page, obscuring your user name?

Hi John,
With regard to:
- Unlimited Fibre: 40 Mbps download speed, 10 Mbps upload speed
- Unlimited Fibre Extra: 80 Mbps download speed, 20 Mbps upload speed
- Fibre: The fastest available speed for your specific line
For the time being, it's possible to re-contract for the same product and retain your landline service. However, any product change will necessitate a switch to SOGEA (FTTC without a phone line).
-----
What do the ratios 40/10 and 80/20 mean please? Does these numbers represent the download and upload speeds, respectively ie 40/10 means a maximum download speed of 40 Mbps and a maximum upload speed of 10 Mbps? thanks.
What are the implications of switching to SOGEA (FTTC without a phone line)? Does this mean Ill be receiving the same broadband service (Unlimited Fibre) without a dedicated phone line. Im just double-checking I have this right. Or are there any other limitations.
Thank you!
Craig
1.You are essentially correct, but this depends on your connections capabilities.
2.Yes - although if you are on 'Unlimited Fibre now, you may see an increase in your speeds, as SOGEA doesn't have the artificial restriction which the slower package (40/10) does.

I was slightly wrong in an earlier post.
If your line supports it SOGEA it is provisioned at 80/20 and you may see a slight increase in speed.
If your line doesn't support the speeds then it appears it will be provisioned at 40/10 - the same as you're currently on.

Re: @pvmb The 80/20 option is (or was ) known on PN as 'Unlimited Fibre Extra' - - other providers use different terminology.
Apologies, I did mean to create any discomfort. It just confused me as I assumed Unlimited Fibre (my current deal was unlimited data), the new package simply removed the word Unlimited with implied "limited". The other reason for the query is the FAQ under the new offer had sections missing (and still has), the question "Does Fibre have limited usage" has not answer or content when expanded.
I think I have the clarification I need now, so very grateful to all who have helped!
Thanks
Craig

Navigate from the Home Screen to Advanced Settings > Technical Log > Information
I don't see this option sorry. Going to my Home Page takes me to Bill/Products but no Advanced Setting option on screen sorry. Or do I need to login to router to do this. Thanks again?

Can you provide a link to this please?
In the help / guide pages on FIBRE the question is answered ... see Broadband package guide | Help | Plusnet
If you can provide a link / context for what is missing, I will try to get the business to address it. There is so much stuff therein, much of it still covering the old product labels due to users still being on those products.

Here is the offending page - with missing content (for me at least). It appears when I go to my offers once logged in. Thanks for providing the full content FAQ answer.

@craigcc Thanks for that post with the Tech Info. Looking at it, it appears you might get a bit more speed if you switched to SoGEA - your line attenuation suggests to me about 50Mb/s, but the signal attenuation looks as though it may be the limiting factor here - it is quite high.
I'm sure someone with more knowledge will correct me if I'm wrong. 😀

I do not see anything related to FIBRE FAQs - I do see FULL FIBRE FAQs and wonder if there is different content depending on what is available. I am on FTTC and can renew that. Can you please post a screenshot? Thank you.

Not your fault at all.
The terms used are confusing - particularly the term "Unlimited" since we are told here that it does not refer to speed and does not refer to data (as Plusnet does not limit data), so what does it refer to? Confusingly then, nothing whatsoever...

Unlimited does refer to data usage.
If my memory serves me well.
Along time ago during the days of ADSL I recall being limited to how much data I use without incurring additional charges, then came along Unlimited Broadband, this was an ADSL connection with Unlimited data usage within reason.
So when FTTC came along the new product followed the Unlimited banner and added Fibre to differentiate the product from ADSL
So there was, Unlimited Broadband, Unlimited Fibre and Unlimited Fibre Extra. You are no longer able to order a ADSL contract where part Fibre and Full Fibre based products are available.

@pvmb I have no idea why you have been so obdurate in this thread, several posters have clearly stated unlimited refers to data usage. Then you come up with ... "we are told here that it does not refer to speed and does not refer to data (as Plusnet does not limit data)."
Hang on, I thought the FTTC products are called unlimited because that is exactly what they are.🤔
