Hi
I have always had 6Mps upload speed through Plusnet and recently it has reduced to <3Mps. My contract renewal came through and suggested an estimated upload speed of 1-3Mps. It was 6Mps estimated last time, and if I ask for a broadband quote via BT, it returns 6Mps. Also Plusnet estimates 6Mps for my immediate neighbouring houses... pls can you advise why my upload speed may have ben reduced.. thanks

Hello @armerm76
Thanks a lot for reaching out. This is likely to be because back in November, we changed the way that we calculate our customer's estimated and guaranteed speeds. They're now based on Openreach's "observed speeds" rather than those Openreach predict you'll get based on other lines with similar characteristics.
This wouldn't have an impact on how your line performs whatsoever though.

Thanks, but why would that impact my home on the street only? And why would BT (same cable, same company) show 6Mps - do they not subscribe to the same Openreach observed speeds?

Thanks for getting back to us @armerm76. There are multiple factors to take into consideration when calculating estimated speed performance and in some cases, even houses directly next to each other can have varying estimates. If you believe that there is an issue with the speeds or your connection, just give us a shout and we'll be more than happy to investigate further
