Upload dropped by half

My upload has been capped to 7meg up, i was running at 14meg to the cabinet when I rang I was told in no uncertain terms that that was impossible

I’m on a 80/20

You can see I was running perfectly fine at 57down and 12 up until the 17-1-24

Where it was capped.

Can I get this back to where it should be please, I have had the engineer out and he says its not Openreach and there is no fault.

I have tried several routers laptops pc’s

Cables and what not. Its capped at 7..

I’m on Unlimited Fiber, sitting here now with

37/7 the SNR-M has gone from 1.3 to over 6db.. any help would be great. But to drop all this speed is just not on.

I have had this before every year is the same thing... why!.

Using Cat 8 Ethernet Cable

Plugged into Master

Every device has been booted off network

No QoS or anything else running..

Thanks

Oh as a quick side note i have tried 3 different hubs Including Plusnets own hub, same outcome.

Also included incase its needed

Re: Upload dropped by half

@Robbie219 I don't know the full details of how upload is managed, but I do know it is not guaranteed - by any ISP.

Maybe @MisterW can help?

Re: Upload dropped by half

the SNR-M has gone from 1.3 to over 6db

6db is the correct target margin.

@Robbie219 What do the BT wholesale estimates say for your line ?

Re: Upload dropped by half

Hi,

The BT Wholsale speed test is allover the place, it says as you can see ubove only what the line is set to at that moment.

if its 47 it says maximum 47, if its 53 it says 53. my maximum Download speed ever is 59/12meg at the machine

I get 63mb /14mb at the cabnet. the Profiles are set at 80/20,

My Snr-m is usally 1.3db

For some reason its 6db.

I understand what your saying but out of the blue the SNRM has shot up 5db and my line speed has gone down from around 58meg to 37meg (I'm on unlimited fiber)

The ticket has been opened so hopefuly they will see that and do a reset.

Re: Upload dropped by half

Don't think a reset will help. The default is 6db,I suspect yours had in the past got reduced to 3 by the DLM. Some interference or line problem  has dropped it back to 6 causing the speed to drop.
