Re: Yet another set of outages and now slow speeds

@Townman I don't really want to get drawn into this subject again - had enough grief in the others referenced in the opening post, but a cursory glance at the error log attached made 'interesting' reading.

Re: Yet another set of outages and now slow speeds

Agreed, around the 5th Jan there were lots of disconnections, but IIRC since then a fault was found and repaired ... did you have something different in mind?

The current stats are better than they have been ... now need to watch to see if the line remains stable ... and to keep a watch for any apparent instability being associated with the use of any electrical equipment.

Re: Yet another set of outages and now slow speeds

Looking at the 2nd error log, I see quite a few from the 14th Feb onwards?

Re: Yet another set of outages and now slow speeds

From 2024

13:11:09, 24 Feb. DSL Link Up: Down Rate=60725kbps, Up Rate=10577kbps; SNR Margin Down=3.1dB, Up=6.3dB

Looking at the event log for 21st Feb, there was a series of DSL Link down between 10:32 and 11:00

At 11:02:06, 21 Feb. System start Button press (PowerButton)

There a DSL Link down message after the Reboot

11:03:22, 21 Feb. DSL Link Down: duration was 50 seconds

11:04:23, 21 Feb. DSL Link Up: Down Rate=59324kbps, Up Rate=9210kbps; SNR Margin Down=3.2dB, Up=6.4dB

The event log extraction ends at 11:06

A theory behind the numerous DSL link down over a short period could be caused by maintenance work being performed on the line.

The events from the 14th Feb would be the start of the current disconnect issues.

If this was me, I'd check the DSL cable to the Hub from the Master Socket, if a MK4 the faceplate is used make sure it is secure.

Line and Signal attenuation uplink being 0 (zero) is not expected.

A newer export of the Technical Log "Information page" and "event log" (All categories) would be helpful.

Re: Yet another set of outages and now slow speeds

Also getting shockingly slow speeds, I can't even load discord on my PC. Discord mobile can't even load IMAGES (well, very slowly like a 56k). Yet switching to 4G, everything loads instantly.

Even reset the router a couple of times which normally fixes it. Strange because speed tests are coming in at 25mb (Yep, not even getting my 40mb.......in 2025)

@tankabbott It is poor etiquette to hijack another users topic - please start your own with a little more detail.

Re: Yet another set of outages and now slow speeds

Same. Discord slow connection and images not loading. Same for CivitAI and some other sites. Seems like there is an issue either with Plusnet or on the network in general.  I tethered to Three mobile and they loaded fine (albeit really slow but that's another issue unrelated to Plusnet).

Began this afternoon from what I can gather.

@deadman2020 see my reply above to @tankabbott  - I doubt either your, or their, problem is related to the OP's.
