@vfr750 Good. Keep your eyes on it, though - I'm a little wary of your noise margins.

Re: dropouts a lot over last few days

So I will wait and see if the engineer can find the fault.

I have had similar in the past, the first engineer found nothing, then it rained

and the second engineer found it easily. just hope it is raining on Monday. 😀

not still got the bike,

sold it to my brother though so still in family.

I did 130,000 miles on it between 1989 and 2003.

great Honda build quality then.

Re: dropouts a lot over last few days

just had engineer on site,  line fault not fully showing as it is dry today.

my internet speed is lower and has some intermittent cut outs.

the phone line varies from okay to no connection at all.

They are going to either cut back the trees or get a bigger pole fitted to go over the trees.

The engineer will report back, that I have had the same fault at least 3 times.

So they need to do a proper fix this time.

To either cut back trees, higher telephone pole, or run underground.

So I just have to wait and hope it stays dry.🙄

Re: dropouts a lot over last few days

I have had a text from openreach

stating the engineer has completed the visit.

If you have any questions relating to your service,

please contact your service provider.

Can you please get me an update as to when they intend fixing the fault.

since they left it has rained again and the landline is unusable due to noise on line,

and the internet is slower and cuts out intermittently.

So can you please chase them up.

As to when it will be fixed.

I would prefer it they could put the line underground as suggested by the engineer.

Re: dropouts a lot over last few days

Following on from today's engineer, we're going to have to book another one in as the issue is still on going. I've updated the notes to reflect what's been advised today and what happened after the visit.

Openreach operate 2 timeslots for visits. These are AM ( 0800-1300) and PM (1300-1800), Monday to Friday

Please provide 3 timeslots you could attend and we will book the appointment for you and contact you to confirm when the engineer will be visiting.

Please note if an engineer visits your premises and is unable to gain access or if the fault is found to be caused by your equipment, your set up or your phone socket, the engineers may refer you back to us to discuss the next steps.

Re: dropouts a lot over last few days

I can be free most afternoons PM (1300-1800)

I am free

on 16/03/2023

     17/03/2023

or  20/03/2023

This needs to be for the trees to be cut back or the line to be run underground,

or the pole to be replaced with a taller one.

No point in just replacing the line again, as it will fail AGAIN.

Re: dropouts a lot over last few days

any update on when and how this will be fixed.

my neighbour will now only allow a small bit of pruning on his side of the tree.

if they have too they could run the line around my side and cut more back.

I would prefer either to run underground or to higher the telephone pole.

I have just received an email and a text stating you need to send an engineer to my property

to progress the fault.? is this a normal engineer again or one to do a survey to fix the problem finally.

The times I am free are still

 most afternoons PM (1300-1800)

I am free

on 16/03/2023

17/03/2023

or 20/03/2023

Re: dropouts a lot over last few days

Thanks for getting back to me, I'm sorry there hasn't been any further update since my last message. I've got an engineer booked in for the 17th PM slot. What I've also done is send an Openreach escalation so a case handler can be assigned on there side and review the last engineer notes further to rather get a surveyor out or send out the correct equipment as they mentioned tree cutting or hoist might be required.

As it stands, I don't have the ability to send either one of those out until Openreach arrange it. I'll be back in touch once I've got a response which could be today or tomorrow.

Re: dropouts a lot over last few days

Just to give you a further update, they've arranged for a senior engineer to come and actually pin point what work needs to be done.

Re: dropouts a lot over last few days

The engineer has been, no major fault was showing as it was dry today.

I did show him the logs from the 15th and 16th which had loads of disconnections.

my neighbour had got his builders to cut back some of the tree branches this morning,

I spoke to the builder he said the line was getting caught by two branches and was kinked.

So I passed that onto the engineer who got a long pole out to move the line.

this did show a spike on his meter reading, so he said he would replace the line right through

from the pole again, So he did that.

So hopefully it is fixed and will stay that way 😁 as the tree has been cut back.

do I get any compensation for all the hassle again.
