lost sync speed

Yesterday i noticed my sync speed has dropped, I was connecting at 39999, the full 40mbps, Which is the package i'm on.I'm now connecting at Current Rate (kbps) 34999. a loss of about 5mbps, I've tried the plusnet hub and its the same, I've changed dsl filter and dsl phone cable, Also i've tried taking the faceplate off and plugging directly into the master socket.

Re: lost sync speed

Is your phone line quiet? Dial 17070 option 2.

What is your minimum guaranteed speed?

Have you been affected by the thunderstorms recently?

Re: lost sync speed

I did the quiet line test, its silent, Not a sound, I was syncing at full 40mbps past 18 months, These are my current stats

Current Rate (kbps) 9999 34999
Max Rate (kbps) 11857 50059
SNR Margin (dB) 7.9 7.5
Line Attenuation (dB) 2.9 14.4
Errors (pkts) 0 0

I noticed sync was lower about week ago before any thunderstorms.

Re: lost sync speed

Looks like you line has got banded probably due to noise or drops on the line. It may improve if the line stays stable for a few days.

Ideally it would help knowing how many drops you are getting, either from a WAN filter from the router logs, or a Radius report from PN.
